If you think you’ve read something like this before don’t let that stop you from reading Part 1 and Part 2 of this article. The author takes a look at the beloved characters from the Hundred Acre Wood and how symptoms of having experienced trauma show up in each of them. She theorizes that the characters exhibit these symptoms as a way for the author, AA Milne, to acknowledge and work with his own. Milne was a veteran of both World Wars and likely suffered from PTSD. You may identify with one or more of these but may never have connected them to a traumatic experience or series of experiences.
