We envision a vibrant and connected community where anyone impacted by violence, abuse, or other trauma receives the support and attention they need to fully recover and reach their highest potential. We work with community members, professionals, and organizations to raise awareness and to identify, develop, support, and promote many options for healing and for preventing trauma.
The Trauma Healing Project was initiated by a coalition of survivors, lay community members, professionals, students, and researchers concerned about the negative impact of trauma on individual and community health. We believe that in order to improve the quality of life in our communities and to end violence and abuse, healing and recovery must be understood, promoted, and accessible.
