A story of triumph over trauma.

9:40am – 10:15am Barbara Largent, MD
Barbara will talk about the effects of trauma from a professional perspective and also her own healing journey.

Elizabeth Bouvier-Fitzgerald, was born in Providence. Her first job was on a dairy farm on Martha’s Vineyard when she was thirteen. She had big plans to hitch-hike to Belize and sell coffee on the beach after high school because complex trauma survivors from the projects don’t go to college but her mother dragged her there anyway.

With encouragement from unexpected mentors and teachers, she graduated with a dual-master’s in clinical mental health and expressive psychotherapy from Lesley University. She soon realized none of her classmates had ever been homeless which fueled her research on the human experience.

Over the past fifteen years she’s worked as a licensed professional counselor, clinical supervisor, trauma-informed care advocate, writer, speaker and trainer.

Elizabeth and her husband live in Bend Oregon with their dog Ratchet, named after his dad’s career as a vintage motorcycle mechanic.

Barbara Largent, MD
Barb Largent helps clients heal trauma through deep emotional release and mind-body re-balancing, offering compassionate guidance and support for transformational growth and spiritual renewal after life’s most devastating experiences.

She integrates a background as a family practice doctor with expertise in child abuse, trauma, shamanic and Eastern modalities into her healing practice. Her own personal experience as a survivor of child abuse and rape led her on a profound inner journey to recover from PTSD and has shaped her work as a healer.

An artist, actor, and speaker, Barb offers a unique perspective on healing pathways with a message of hope for finding peace and reconnecting to the body’s own innate healing spirit.
