Workshop Presentation:

Response to Trauma – A Completely Different Perspective

Following any traumatic experience we will inevitably be left with feelings about ourselves, others, and reality in general.  These feelings about ourselves will also lead to thoughts about ourselves.  Together, these two will always constitute something of a summary about the experience—and, also, a summary about ourselves.

This summary is an assessment with regard to what the experience tells us about who we really are.  This summary is a conclusion that is called a Belief—a belief about self.  If this belief about ourselves has to do with a belief in our own powerlessness, then that belief may be with us, and undermine us, for a lifetime.

This presentation will center around giving you a specific tool to regain any sense of powerlessness that you may have acquired in a traumatic experience, and will be a tool that you can use in any and all similar situations for the rest of your life, starting right now.
