Workshop Presentation:

Physiological and Psychological Trauma – It’s a Personal Somatic Journey

Can a person be traumatized if they don’t have a memory of it? What if the memory feels too vivid or painful to revisit? How does someone work through resistance and blockages to access freedom, to soar and shine and love again?

Understand the full extent of trauma, and how to effectively and compassionately untangle and diffuse its power over us. This talk examines:

• Trauma & emotional scars – how they are created, how they affect our mind and body.

• Layers of trauma – Physical, Etheric, Mental-Emotional, and Psycho-spiritual.

• Acupuncture & Inner Space Techniques – a powerful combination. True freedom and inner knowing is possible by moving Qi and accessing the inner spaces of consciousness through somatic regression and meditation.

Bio:

Kat M. Lui is a practitioner of Inner Space Techniques, a meditation-based regression approach to healing trauma and awakening. She is a licensed acupuncturist and Chinese herbalist who incorporates meditation, qi gong, and somatic bodywork in her practice. She focuses on listening, and providing the tools patients need to manage stress, find clarity, and reconnect to emotional and physical wellbeing.

Kat was born in Hong Kong and has spent much of her life in the Western United States.  As a wildlife biologist on Maui, Kat worked in the rainforest saving endangered birds. In 2004, she created Malama Wao Akua, a beloved annual art show highlighting Maui’s native species. Before becoming an acupuncturist, Kat engaged in three years of full time meditation practices. For the past decade, she has helped clients release emotional patterns and access inner freedom through therapeutic meditation techniques. She is inspired by authentic connection and fueled by curiosity.

Now happily ensconced in the volcanic landscapes of Bend Oregon, you can find Kat at Lumos Medical Center and in private practice.
